ABOUT THE AUTHOR

In Christopher Isherwood's novel, A Single Man, the protagonist gets drunk with one of his students and in the midst of a passionate speech on the human condition and codified behavior asks,

"Are we to spend [life] identifying each other with catalogues, like tourists in an art gallery? Or are we to try to exchange some kind of signal, however garbled, before it's too late?"

Heathn.Ink was born out of Jenny Botello’s desire to document and decode the garbled, the contradictory, and the seemingly straightforward signals that various types of artists send out to the world in a savage hope that something—anything—will get through.
